Manon's Bio
Manon Gagnon grew up in Grand-Mère, Quebec.
She is co-owner of Design On The GoTM with her life partner, Andy.
During junior college, Manon wanted to study Communications at University. Then she discovered a course called Graphic Design. “Cool! If I learn that, then I’ll be able to do arts & crafts all my life!” Well, Manon earned a college degree in Graphic Arts followed by a university certificate in Publicity.
Manon’s early work included t-shirt graphics in a silkscreen plant and graphic design at a printer. Later she brought her design talents to a national industrial (MRO) supplier. Then she expanded her portfolio dramatically within the communications department in a pulp & paper research institute.
All along, Manon honed her craft and developed a very solid understanding of the use of paper and print technology in design. The result is design work which is artful yet practical.
In 2004, Manon and her team won a prestigious ARC Award for an Annual Report design that Manon created for Paprican. Armed with this ‘win’ Manon decided she was ready to go it on her own. Her communications company, Gagnon Design, sprung to life. Through word-of-mouth and a reputation for delivering fast, effective design projects Manon has gained many new clients.
Today, Manon joins her life partner, Andy, adding a marketing element to the organization named Design On The Go. “We first met on the job”, she says, “so we know that we work well together and that our skills are complimentary. ”
Manon’s passion to create doesn’t stop in the office. She has been involved in community theater and loves to garden and add color around the house. Recently, she started pottery in her little studio from Kaslo, BC. Her greatest love is her daughter who has a magical (and often comical) way of getting her to see the world from a different perspective. Manon continues to give back the passion for life and learning.
